When we think of Rio de Janeiro, automatically come to our minds, the fever of carnival, the bombastic New Year’s Eve, the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, Christ Redemeer, and the Sugar Loaf. But the city has more places to be explored, which will surprise you the same or even more than the most visited and tourist places. Here is a list that will make you fall in love, even more, with the city:

Parque Natural Municipal Penhasco 2 Irmãos

It is not about the famous Morro dos Dois Irmãos. It is a special park, located in Leblon, where is possible to have a privileged view of important postcards of the city: Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, Botanical Garden, Corcovado and Leblon and Ipanema beaches. This park has become self-sufficient by receiving panels to capture solar energy. In the trails of the park it is possible to observe botanical species and tropical animals. At the top of the small hike, the park has multi-sport courts, gardens and steel sculptures designed by the famous Oscar Niemeyer. Photo by unknown photographer
